Community Event - Students and Police

Community, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun filled the gym at Parkview Elementary School on Saturday, June 6th, as the Westville Police Department faced off against the 6th grade students in an exciting basketball game!

The students came ready to play and didn’t disappoint—showcasing impressive skills, teamwork, and some truly dazzling plays. It was clear the students were prepared and eager to take on the challenge!

Participants enjoyed free water bottles and pizza, making the day even more memorable for everyone involved.

A big thank you to LaTentacion Pizza and Mexican Grill for donating the pizzas, Officers Devin Shields, Kirston Beaucicault, SRO Keith Wall, and Police Chief Michael Packer for taking the time to participate and connect with our students. A special thank you goes out to Detective Shields for organizing this fantastic event.

Although this was the first game between the Westville Police Department and Parkview’s 6th graders, it’s safe to say it won’t be the last—plans already appear to be in the works for next year!

Events like this continue to strengthen the relationship between our community and the Police Department, and we look forward to building on this great tradition.
