Repaving of Broadway Update

On Thursday, August 29th, Administrator Giles, Superintendent of Public Works Marty Finger and I attended a pre-construction meeting hosted by the County of Gloucester specific to the County Project - Resurfacing and Safety Improvements to Broadway (County Road 551) and Evergreen Avenue to Red Bank Avenue. The County repaving project will include safety enhancements and new curbing as well as ADA apron curb cutouts where needed. The project is expected to start in Westville the week of September 9th; however, preliminary prep work may start as early as September 3rd.

The project will begin with milling and the final stage will be the resurfacing of the roadway. Residents should be aware of detours in the area during the project and will be contacted by the contractor on how detours may affect them.

The estimate for completion of this County project is 60 days and we’ve been assured by the County that this project will have little to no effect on our September 28th Fall Festival.
