Rt 47 Bridge Construction

On Monday, April 29th, Borough officials contacted the State of New Jersey Rt 47 project manager because of the unsafe traffic pattern and absence of barriers on this project. According to the State representative, they are currently “set up in a prestige traffic pattern that does not include barriers”. They further stated that it will be at least four to six weeks before they move into Stage 1 where barriers will be installed similar to the Rt 130 bridge configuration. Although Council attempted to get a better traffic pattern for the safety of our residents, our request was declined and the best we can do is urge residents to proceed with caution when using the Rt 47 bridge.

Additionally, Falls Avenue (a cut through street to get to Broadway from Crown Point Road) will be closed for the next two weeks so that the Rt 47 project can store waste water in a portable tank while they remove underground Verizon wires.
