Snow Removal Reminder – Sidewalks & Community Safety ![]()
The Borough reminds all residents and property owners that sidewalks adjacent to their property must be cleared of snow and ice within a reasonable time after the snowfall ends, in accordance with local ordinance. Keeping sidewalks passable is essential for public safety, including our school children, pedestrians, postal and delivery workers, emergency personnel, and individuals with mobility challenges.
Please be sure to:
Shovel the full width of the sidewalk
Clear curb ramps and crosswalk areas when possible
Apply salt or ice melt to reduce slippery conditions
Avoid pushing snow back onto cleared sidewalks or into the street
We also encourage residents who are able to check on and assist elderly or disabled neighbors who may have difficulty shoveling on their own. A few minutes of your time can make a big difference and help prevent injuries.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe, accessible, and looking out for one another during winter weather.
