Water Project Update

In August 2024, I reported we were awarded a one million dollar grant from the USDA through their Water Assistance Grant program to make upgrades to our Water facility. These upgrades will allow us to purchase equipment necessary for the installation of the GAC Filtration system that will remove PFOS chemicals from our water supply.

I’m excited to let you know we have made considerable strides in preparing the plant for the upgrades and at tonight’s Special Council meeting, the Governing Body unanimously approved Resolution 78-2025, “Authorizing the Borough of Westville’s Governing Body to Award the Bid for Equipment to Purchase a GAC Filtration System to Newterra Corporation”.

Procurement of the equipment is a major step towards project completion that will ensure PFOS free water for all residents - now and for future generations.

I also want to assure water users that since November 2023 our water has been testing under the NJDEP regulations.

I wish to thank our Governing Body - Donna Domico, Travis Lawrence, Mandi McCullough, Bruce Nordaby, Tracy Van Acker and Tim Young for taking time from their busy schedules to approve Resolution 78-2025 at tonight’s Special meeting so that we can keep this project moving forward as quickly and efficiency as possible. Their continued commitment to Westville and especially this project is making a difference.
