Road flooding along Rt 45

This morning Borough Officials contacted the New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT) to request that they shut down the curbside lane of Route 45 southbound from Park Avenue to West Olive Street due to the standing storm water in that area. We made the request because of the upcoming drop in temperatures forecasted for the next several days and our concern about freezing roadways.

For the past few years, Borough officials have repeatedly notified the DOT regarding the drainage of storm water along Route 45 and our concern for public safety; however, to date the DOT has failed to address the issue so the Borough is left to take care of the problem the best way we can.

We hope to hear from DOT shortly but in the meantime, please use caution when driving in this area.
