Attention Dog and Cat Owners

This is a reminder that the 2020  dog or cat license purchased for your pet(s) expired December 31, 2020 and that it’s time to register your pet, 7 months of age or over, for 2021.   Cats are also required to be licensed by the Borough.  If you registered a pet in 2020, a letter and form will be sent to your residence by January 15, 2021.

Since the Municipal building is closed to the public, please mail or place your license renewal information in the large “drop box” at the front of the Municipal Building in an envelope marked “pet licensing”.  Staff will process your request and mail back your rabies certificate, license and payment receipt within two business days.

Free Rabies Clinic.  The Borough will hold a clinic on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Public Works Garage located at 114 Crown Point Road.  Residents will also be able to drop off their registration information for their dog or cat at the clinic, if you will be getting your pet(s) vaccinated at the clinic.   (More information about the Rabies Clinic will be posted to this web site in March.)

When mailing in your pet registration information, you must provide proof of a rabies vaccination that is valid through November 1, 2021.  If you do not have a copy of the rabies certificate and you registered your pet in 2020, you can contact the Borough at 856-456-0030, ext. 113 to verify the expiration date we have on record.  If your pet does not have a valid rabies vaccination through November 1, 2021, the license cannot be processed.

You will have until April 29, 2021 to register your pet without incurring a late fee; unfortunately if you don’t register your pet by April 29, 2021, there will be $15.00 late fee for each pet registered after this date.  For information on the Borough’s late fee charges, you can review Ordinance No. 8-2018.   (Residents who bring a new pet into their residence after April 29, 2021 will still have to purchase a license but will not incur a late fee.)

Please call 856-456-0030, option 113, if you have any questions about registering your pet.

Details on licensing your pet, can be found on the Pet Licensing page located in this web site along with the Application to License your Pet.  Additional information on licensing requirements can also be found in the Borough of Westville codes.
